Who We Are
Blue Bombers Alumnus and former CFL Executive Lyle Bauer conceived Never Alone Cancer Foundation after being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2004. “When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I can tell you that in spite of family and friends, I had never felt so alone and unsure of what the future would bring.” Lyle’s experience with the disease and the support he received from friends, family, and cancer service providers inspired him to help other cancer patients to let them know that they are Never Alone.
On April 26, 2024, Lyle Bauer passed. He was a true community hero, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering support for others. His impact continues to inspire, and he is deeply missed. #Forever59
Today, the Never Alone Cancer Foundation remains committed to improving the lives of people affected by cancer. We provide emotional, financial, and informational support to patients, families and caregivers affected by cancer. Through care packages, food deliveries, transportation assistance, and financial aid, we strive to bring comfort and hope to those in need. We are dedicated to honoring Lyle’s legacy by offering support so that no one faces cancer alone.
