Never Alone Cancer Foundation is proud to partner with the Manitoba Paddling Association to host one of the summer’s biggest events: The Dragon Boat Festivals!  This year’s festival will be held at The Manitoba Canoe and Kayak Centre, 80 Churchill Drive.  Dragon boating is one of Winnipeg’s most popular summer events, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it!

This event is a FUNdraiser for the Never Alone Cancer Foundation, a Winnipeg based not-for-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer in our community.  Many people do not realize the financial hardships that accompany a cancer diagnosis.  Without benefits, a cancer diagnosis leaves many unable to work or even care for their children because they are too ill.  No one should ever have to make the decision between groceries or the cost of gas and parking to get to their treatments.

More about the Manitoba Paddling Association

In our earliest days, the Manitoba Paddling Association (MPA) was known as the Winnipeg Canoe Club, located by the current Canoe Club Golf Course on the east side of the Red River.

Incorporated in 1982, the MPA is a provincial entity whose main purpose is to promote and foster paddling in Manitoba. Whether people are just considering trying out paddling for the first time, are full members of our Provincial Team or are somewhere in between. We work with all athletes and paddling clubs throughout the province to promote paddling as an excellent lifestyle pursuit.

In addition to the physical benefits, paddling can also promote good mental health… a whole-body approach to well-being.
